Hyderabad is steadily evolving into a global hub for innovation and investment, IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu told a German delegation that is in India for a study of industrial development in the BRICS countries.
The city boasts world-class infrastructure and is already a hub for IT and electronics, pharmaceutical, defense and aerospace industries, he said, adding that regardless of regime changes, progressive industrial policies continue to provide stability and confidence to investors.
The Telangana government is at the forefront of introducing innovative policies to effectively address the challenges posed by the rapidly changing global landscape, the minister said. Emphasis is also placed on skill development. The ambitious Bharat Future City project proposed by the government near Hyderabad and comprising AI City, Net Zero City and Young India Skills University will lay a solid foundation for the state’s future. With abundant human resources and deep talent, Telangana wants to ensure that industries never face shortage of skilled professionals, he said during a meeting at the Secretariat here.
The minister’s office said in a release that a German delegation is visiting India to study industrial development in the BRICS countries, investment-friendly ecosystems and the impact of advanced technologies. The delegation includes representatives of the international non-profit organization Global Bridges.
Discussing the industrial opportunities available in Telangana and the incentives offered by the state government to foreign investors, Mr. Sridhar Babu said that the semiconductor sector in Telangana is gaining momentum with companies from Taiwan and Korea starting chip design and manufacturing activities. Several global players are also coming forward with setting up data centers. With Germany’s technological know-how, Telangana can progress even further in the engineering sector, the minister said.
