Borders must never stand in the way of effective policing, Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar said on Wednesday (Dec 17, 2025) and directed police officers to strictly implement the ‘zero delay’ policy to ensure immediate response to crimes and quick assistance to victims.
The directive was issued during a coordination meeting of police commissioners of Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda held at the Telangana Integrated Command and Control Center in Banjara Hills. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Sajjanar and attended by Commissioner of Police Cyberabad Avinash Mohanty and Commissioner of Police Rachakonda G. Sudheer Babu along with senior officers from the three commissionerates.
Addressing the gathering, the official said criminals were increasingly taking advantage of jurisdictional loopholes by committing crimes in one area and hiding in another. He warned that any delay caused by confusion over territorial limits could allow the perpetrators to escape. “There should be no communication gap between field workers. Regardless of where a crime occurs, the nearest police unit must respond immediately without jurisdictional debates,” he said.
“When criminals don’t respect borders, neither should the police,” Mr. Sajjanar said, adding that the ultimate goal was a safer Hyderabad through technology-driven policing and unified action. He warned that there will be no leniency for those who disrupt law and order, no matter where they try to hide.
Commissioner Mohanty said that the rapid expansion of the IT corridor and financial district has made seamless coordination and integration of CCTV networks essential to monitor the movement of criminals in real time. Police Commissioner Rachakonda Babu suggested the creation of joint teams to fight organized crime and illegal activities such as gang-smuggling, stressing that intelligence sharing remains the backbone of effective city policing.
The meeting was attended by Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) M. Srinivasulu, Joint Commissioners Tafseer Iqubal, D. Joel Davis and Gajarao Bhupal and Deputy Commissioners of Police from all the three Commissionerates.
