Hyderabad court sentences three to three years in jail for 2019 Jubilee Hills robbery

A Hyderabad court has sentenced three men to three years in prison in connection with a 2019 robbery case registered at Jubilee Hills police station.

XVII another chief metropolitan court in Nampally found the three accused guilty under Section 394 of the Indian Penal Code (voluntarily causing bodily harm while committing robbery) and fined each of them ₹500.

The incident took place in the early hours of February 25, 2019, when a nurse working at Focus Hospital in Panjagutta boarded a shared autorickshaw at Maithrivanam to travel to her residence in Sree Krishna Nagar, Yousufguda around 2 am. After the car crossed the Yousufguda check post, the driver ignored the woman’s request to stop at the destination and sped away. The occupants of the car then assaulted her and robbed her of a 2 ½ tola gold chain and another 2 ½ tola mangalsutra.

The accused subsequently pushed the woman out of the moving car near Vacs Bakery on Road No. 10, Jubilee Hills. She suffered multiple injuries in the incident. Based on the woman’s complaint, the Jubilee Hills police registered a complaint under Section 394 of the Enforcement Act and started an investigation.

The three convicted accused have been identified as Mohd Mohsin Khan alias Fighter Mohsin (25), an auto driver from Yousufgud; Imran Khan Mohammed (20), of Sri Ram Nagar, Yousufguda; and Paral Muni Prakash alias Balala (19), an auto driver from Jyothi Nagar, Site III, Hyderabad, and a rowdy security guard at Borabanda police station.
