A man in Adilabad district ended his life on Tuesday, weeks after his wife died in distress following a domestic quarrel during the Dasara festival.
According to a Jagtial police officer, Santhosh Allepu, 25, a resident of Erddandiki village in Ibrahimpatnam mandal of Jagtial, married Gangotri, who lived near his house, on September 26 after a four-year relationship.
“On October 2, the couple visited Gangotri’s parents’ house to celebrate Dasara. During lunch that day, Santhosh allegedly scolded his wife, saying the mutton curry she had prepared was too spicy. Gangotri, distraught over the argument, ended her life later that night,” the officer said.
Since then, Santhosh was deeply disturbed and about a week ago he went to his sister’s place in the district center of Adilabad. On Tuesday afternoon, when no one was home, he killed himself.
