When the Belgian authorities were arrested by Mehula Chorshi, he acted at the request of India, his lawyer claimed that the human rights of the entrepreneur would largely interfere if he was sent back to the country. Mehul Choksi was arrested on Saturday, April 12 and is currently in prison.
When his legal team is preparing for questioning the application for issuance, his lawyer Vijay Aggarwal revealed reasons for which Mehul Choksi would be questioned – “the political nature of the case” and “concerns about proper treatment of Mehul Chorsi in India”.
Mehul Choksi reportedly suffers from blood cancer and is treatment in Belgium.
Asked if Mehul Choksi would not get proper treatment in India, Vijay Aggarwal said: “His human rights will be greatly influenced.”
“This is a procedure. In principle, we will defend it for two reasons. It is a political case and secondly because of the human condition in India,” added Vijay Aggarwal.
His lawyer also claimed that Mehul Choksi was never declared a refugee because he had always worked with investigative agencies.
“We have always claimed to be ready to join in the whole court, but he cannot travel because of his health. We initially claimed that the Indian agency could investigate, and he joins the video conferencing. Therefore, everyone has been declared a refugee, but Mehul Choksi is not Fugitive.
He added that several applications for virtual cooperation with investigations were submitted due to Chipsi’s health problems.
“India did not come for health reasons; it is ready to join the investigation at any time. The VC may ask him anything; he is ready to join. We have moved the request many times;

The health status of Mehul Choksi is the reason that his legal team has appealed to his release from custody. Vijay Aggarwal said Mehul was “extremely ill”.
“It’s cancer treatment and last lifted him out of antigua by Indian agencies, he felt very claustrophobic because of torture, and had some permanent deformities and also suffered PTSD.”
Aggarwal said it would be the basis for the request that Choksius could remain out of linking when attacking the issue.
