On Sunday (September 21, 2025), Theertham gathered in large numbers on the waterfalls, who gathered on the waterfall Kapil Theertham, which was worried about the safety and security at the foot of Tirumal Hills.
“Mahalaya amavasya” is an annual event where devotees perform sacred rituals to pay tribute to remote souls. Normally it is done on the stairs leading to the tank or waterfall inside the compound Kapil Theertham. However, the sudden influx of rush into the complex was captured by security staff who did not know, leading to pushing and jostling.
TTD authorities have not taken any special measures for this day because it is not a temple -related event and did not expect a heavy leg.
As the growth of the crowd increased, the devotees tried to move when the input and output routes were packed. The absence of the parking lot in the chapel Theertham proved to be a striking gap, with hundreds of vehicles parked in a random way and blocking a smooth traffic flow.
Police Superintendent L. Subbarajuda threw himself into a place to watch the situation. He rejected the social media reports of the “other stampde” in Tirupat and called on the public to believe rumors. Police watched the crowd by deploying another workforce and through drones.
