Hubballi is all set to host the Maharaja Trophy T-20 tournament from today
The KSCA Stadium at Rajnagar in Hubballi is all set to host the Maharaja Trophy T-20 cricket tournament from Saturday and KSCA Dharwad Zone has arranged seating for 8,000 spectators.
Convenor of KSCA Dharwad Zone and former mayor Viranna Savadi spoke to presspersons in Hubballi about the measures. Entry for general public will be from Gate 3 and 4 and ticket prices will be ₹200 and ₹150.
Mr. Savadi said the first gate will be for entry of players, KSCA staff and BCCI officials.
Sponsors will be allowed to enter from Gate 3 and 300 members of Hubballi-Dharwad Cricket Clubs will get free entry from Gate 5.
When asked, Mr. Savadi said necessary arrangements have been made to address any rain-related issues. Other super sopper machines will be deployed along with the sail and there will be 50 ground personnel, he said.
He said six matches of the tournament will be played under floodlights and they have already replaced the old lamps with LED lamps.
Arrangements have been made for drinking water and public toilets have been set up for the use of spectators, he said.
Maharaja Trophy board member AV Shashidhar said they have sold ₹33,000 worth of tickets after the online ticket sales started on June 16. Spectators can also purchase tickets at the entry gates, he said.
KSCA Dharwad Zone Chairman Altaf Kittur was present.
