After a public outrage over the indiscriminate tax increase and strong opposition from the Chamber of Commerce and Karnatak (KCCI), Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC) decided to temporarily reduce resignation from solid waste and underground drain.
Mayor of Hubball-Dharwad Ramanna Badiger announced on Monday that the decision on their temporary resignation was taken after a discussion on the revision of the real estate tax with KCCi and various organizations and parties and after consideration and disadvantages.
The mayor stated that real estate tax was imposed according to the 2019 instructions and subsequently new instructions were issued during 2023-24, which were not carried out in 2024-25.
