Hridaya Raju elected state president of AP Teachers Federation

The Andhra Pradesh Teachers Federation (APTF) unanimously elected G. Hridaya Raja as its state president, S. Chiranjeevi as its general secretary and D. Eswara Rao as its honorary president during its state general council meeting held in Vijayawada on Friday.
The council reviewed organizational activities, struggles and news over the past two years. Federation leaders demanded that Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Nara Lokesh should take the initiative to introduce common service rules for all teaching cadres under the new district system and ensure equal opportunities for all teachers.
The federation also called for a reduction in non-teaching duties and an improvement in educational policy for disadvantaged students.
A resolution was passed in the meeting to put pressure on the government to appoint the 12th Pay Revision Commission (PRC), immediate release of 30% Interim Relief (IR), settlement of pending collection contributions of 11th PRC, DA and EL, release of four pending DAs, abolition of CPS system and resolution of health cards and other employee related matters.
The meeting was also attended by former state presidents, council members and women’s representatives.
