Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Nara Lokesh on Friday felicitated U. Venkateswara Rao, a middle class teacher at Mandal Parishad Primary School in Chintaluru village under Alamuru of Dr. district. BR Ambedkar Konaseema, for his activity-based teaching methods.
The Minister said that his way of teaching students using the TaRL (Teaching at the Right Level) kit through field trips and hands-on experiments is commendable.
Mr. Lokesh also praised the teacher for enrolling his daughter U. Vaishnavi in a government school and thereby instilling public confidence in the government education system.
He said that by growing vegetables in the kitchen garden and fruits through a nutri-garden in the school premises, Mr. Venkateswara Rao inspired the students and taught them about organic farming, nutritious food and environmental protection.
“The videos you share to raise awareness among students about topics like good touch – bad touch, social issues and innovative teaching methods are excellent,” he said.
He mourns the teacher’s death
Meanwhile, the minister mourned the death of assistant English teacher Jyotsna Bai, who lost her life in an accident near the stage at Zilla Parishad High School, Rajanagaram in Payakaraopeta mandal of Anakapalli district.
“My sincere condolences to her family. The government will extend full support to the teacher’s family in all possible ways,” Mr. Lokesh said, informing that he has directed officials to conduct an inquiry into the incident.
“I have also directed the officials to initiate adequate security measures to ensure that similar accidents do not occur in the school premises in future,” he said.
