Language debate
Hertor’s post comes in the middle of the ongoing language debate throughout the country. In April, the Mahashtra government decided to make Hindi a compulsory language up to class 4 within the “three language policies”. This policy was returned last week at the pressure of allies and opposition.
The politics of the three languages were strongly criticized by opposition parties, especially Shiv hay (UBT) and Maharashtra Navnirman hay (MNS), who met on July 5 to protest against the reported decision of the state government.
“We are not against any language. We have always respected Hindi. People like us have always appreciated it. Our party uses Hindi in many ways. But the recent decision to make Hindi mandatory as the third language until class 4 in the” three language policy “that brings unnecessary burden for children.
In addition to the Maharsters, language problems were reported from Karnataka. Recently, there has been a video showing Kannada a speaking woman who confronted an employee of a bank who could not help her in the local language. The video was viral online.
