Deloitte manager Komal Jha shares her monthly expenses and gives an overview of the cost of living as a consultant in one of India’s top tech hubs — Hyderabad. From Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Bengaluru to Hyderabad, she has spent years of her professional life in most of the tier one cities of India. However, she calls the “City of Pearls” her home and has expressed her admiration for Hyderabad for its quality of life.

Indicating that Hyderabad offers the best quality of rural life, she said that she has been living in the city for the past 9 years. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Komal Jha gave an insight into her substantial monthly budget, which includes 50,000/- for rent and 30,000 for her children’s education. A Deloitte manager with 11 years of experience described how she balances a high-profile career with the rising cost of living.

Komal Jha was appointed to the role of Deloitte manager in 2023. Before that, she worked as a senior consultant for almost four years. She retired from OHUM Healthcare Solutions in 2016 after three years of service as a Senior Functional Consultant in the IT hub of India — Bengaluru.

She spent almost 2 years in Pune where she worked as a functional consultant from 2013 to 2015, according to her LinkedIn profile. She briefly worked as an administrative intern at Fortis Escort Heart Institute in Delhi in 2013. In 2013, she completed her research in Healthcare Management at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai.

The engagement manager at Deloitte Consulting is originally from Bihar’s Bhagalpur. She lives with her husband and daughter in a 3BHK house. The largest share of her income is the monthly rent 50,000. The second largest – 30,000 per month — spend on their child’s education.

In addition, her household expenses are divided between domestic support and energy. He puts it aside 20,000 for her domestic help and Rs.10,000 for services.

She allocates 15,000 per month for food bills and kitchen supplies. Summing up these fixed costs, it appears that corporate executives are almost underspending 1,25,000 from her household income is the basic monthly needs to maintain a comfortable lifestyle in Hyderabad.

Describing her role at Deloitte, Jha said, “With over 11 years of experience, I focus on client delivery management, program management and operational plans for large healthcare clients. My expertise includes people and portfolio management, resource planning and Scrum methodologies to ensure smooth execution and quality results.”
