Liverpool, who won his second Premier League and 20 title. The home crown could invite talk about the wild race race – but under the guidance of Arne Slot, the story was significantly different from the previous seasons. While many talked about the “title race”, the points told a very different story.
Was it just dominance?
At first glance, the answer seems to be simple. Liverpool, with 82 points and four matches that still went to play, looked far from the chase. Arsenal, who sat in second place with 67 points, looked distant enough to suggested a one -sided procession.
But as soon as you look in the first two, the whole perspective will move dramatically.
Fight with the slender edges
While Slot’s Liverpool charged with the Premier League Crown with Authority, The real heart rhythm of the season was the wild battle battle that raged below them. Arsenal took second place with 67 points – yet Newcastle (62), Manchester City (61) and Chelsea (60) were firmly stacked. Nottingham Forest, with 60 points and a game in hand, looked at dangerously close, while Aston Villa, 57, remained only one victory from European spots.
This campaign wasn’t just about Liverpool’s brilliance. He flourished on the brass, without margin-for-errr persecution among the other-every reversal, every tripping, and every late goal transformed the narrative.
How did it differ from the past?
Each slip or an increase in this season has brought much greater consequences than in previous years. Compare it with last seasons and contrast is sharp:
2023-24: Manchester City dominated with 91 points, with only Arsenal (89). Aston Villa, fourth, pulled far in 68.
2022-23: Manchester City again led conveniently with 89 points, Arsenal followed 84, while Manchester United and Newcastle were placed at 75 and 71.
2021-22: Liverpool was 93 to 92 closely lined, but Chelsea (74) and Tottenham (71) were safe in the third and fourth.
2019-20: During the previous victory in Liverpool they attacked 99 points, so Manchester City (81) and the rest far away.
In contrast, the 2024-25 season did not offer any such respiratory room. Smaller parties rose, traditional giants and a plant for Europe – and pride – became ruthlessly unforgivable. No team behind Liverpool could afford a bad week without watching their ambitions dissolving.
For all the dominance of Liverpool it is a furious, tireless persecution behind them, which eventually defines the character of this season of the Premier League.
