
Thousands in the Houston area are without energy after robust storms with 70 kilometers per hour of wind, hail and lightning rolled early on Tuesday morning, shot down electric lines, and show electricity for more than 160,000 people.
A number of storms with a larger flash, heavy downpour and sudden wind will be expected to continue east to Louisiana and Mississippi, according to the National Meteorological Service. Parts of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and New Orleans were released serious weather warnings.
There are tens of thousands of people in Houston without power hours after the storm, according to the tracker outage from Centerpoint Energy, the largest service provider in the city.
The outages influenced most of Houston’s northern suburbs and reached east to Galveston.
According to Harris County Constable Mark Herman, at least some damage was succumbed to social media.
On Tuesday afternoon, a lightning warning of floods was released for the central Mississippi parts.
