A large group of armed miscreants attacked and set fire on Thursday (October 2, 2025) in the disputed sector of the Assam-Nagaland border.
Officials in the district of Golaghat from East Assam said that Miscreants, allegedly from Nagland, fired weapons and cast grenades before they lit the houses that belong to the Migrant Muslims. The incident occurred around 11.45 hours in B sector B International border.
Disabled villagers said Miscreants lit their homes after they pulled them out. Panic-crawling people fled to safer areas when the attackers fired in the air, one of the villagers said.
“I strongly condemn the attack Miscreants Naga on the border of Assam-Nagaland and asked the main minister to take the strictest possible steps,” said Sarupathar Mla Biswajit Phukan on X.
Head officials, including the district police guard (SP) Rajen Singh, visited the area to assess the situation. The area was placed staff 155. Central Reserve Police (CRPF) Police Battalion.
Assam and Nagaland have had a long -term border dispute since the 1960s. Conflicts along the border have since demanded more than 150 lives.
