House burglary case solved within 24 hours, jewelery worth ₹14.35 lakh recovered from accused in Uppal

The Uppal police solved a daytime house burglary within 24 hours of the crime and arrested the accused, recovering gold and silver ornaments worth ₹14.35 lakh.

The burglary took place on February 5 between 6 am and 11:30 am at Vasavi Nagar in Ramanthapur, an Uppal police officer said.

The accused has been identified as Thalluri Raghavender alias Srinivas Goud alias Dakkali Ramesh alias Srinivas, 36, resident of Vasavi Nagar, Ramanthapur. Police said he was arrested at his residence around 6 a.m. on February 6.

According to the police, the accused entered Mallamma’s house in Vasavi Nagar during the day when it was locked, broke the almirah and came out with about 85 grams of gold ornaments and 60 tolas of silver articles. A case was registered on the same day based on the victim’s complaint.

On interrogation, the police found that the accused used to target locked houses during the day and force open doors and cupboards with an iron rod. He was involved in house burglary cases reported from Shadnagar, Shadabad, Narsingi and Amberpet in the past and had served some time in jail, police said.
