Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zlenskyy, who offered his congratulations for independence, on Friday (August 15, 2025) played a role for India in the resolution of Russia-Ukraine conflict on Friday (August 15, 2025).
In a report published three hours before the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump on Alaska, Mr. Zlenskyy referred to his call with Prime Minister Narendra Modi 11 August and said India and Ukraine “share experience for freedom and dignity.
“We hope that India will contribute to the effort to end the war so that our freedom and sovereignty are truly safe,” added Pan Zelenky, and indicates reach into a new Delhi, at a time when Ukraine fears the result of Trump-Tump’s interviews.

No mention of Russian oil

August Mr. Zelkyy said that he told Modi that it is “necessary to reduce Russian energy export, especially oil” that helps finance war.
Meanwhile, India, which increased its income of Russian energy, almost 19 times more between 2021 and 2024 has so far rejected the calls to reduce imports, even after the announcement of US punishment. Mr. Zelenkyy also said he hoped to meet Mr. Modi next month on the edge of the UN General Assembly.
