Nursing and other staff of a district hospital went on a flash strike in Belagavi on Wednesday, alleging that a staff nurse was assaulted by a nursing staff of one of the patients on February 17 night.
They went on strike at work for several hours and shouted slogans. They demanded quick police action against the accused and measures to prevent similar attacks in the future. Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences Director Ashok Kumar Shetty and others visited the protesters and assured them of the action.
They later resumed work.
