
The one -day workshop on cultivation, marketing and customs of fruit Bilwa (Bael) was organized on Monday at the University of Horticulture Sciences in Bagalkat.
Source people spoke about various aspects of horticulture, juice Bilwa or Aegle Marmelos.
They said that the crop is highly suitable for the Kalyana Kalyana area because it is well adapted to the area prone to drought. This is the first time that the crop is introduced to Karnataka, they said.
Four Agricultural Universities in the State received more than 7,000 Juice Bilwa of grafted seedlings from the Central Institute of Suchý horticulture in Godhra and other kindergartens from Uttar Pradesh.
They will be distributed to observation kindergartens and selected farmers in the state. They will be asked to participate in the test cultivation of the crop. The registered participants also received several seedlings, the release said.
