On Tuesday, April 22, the Kerala family had 11 years near Baisaran Meadow in Pahalgam after the delay caused by too salty food prevented a tourist place that later became the target of a brutal terrorist attack.
According to Times of India, Alba George, his wife Lavanya, their children and members of the extended family arrived in Kashmir 18 April. After visiting Gulmarg and Sonmarg, they headed to Baisaran in Pahalgam 22 April.
When he talked to Toi, Lavanya said they had skipped lunch in the last two days, so her husband, Alba George, insisted on going to the road restaurant with food before moving to Baisaran Meadow.
“We stopped at the road restaurant and ordered fried rice. Unfortunately, the food arrived too salty, so it was almost inedible. There was a disagreement, but the owner eventually agreed to remake the order and delayed us about an hour,” Lavanya quoted when Money Control said.
As they approached the meadow, they saw all the taxis and other tourists rush around the meadow. “The Gujarat family warned us not to go further, and explained that there was a clash between central security forces and tourists,” she said.
They left the area and descended to rest by the lake before they realized that they had just escaped the terrorist attack.
In another case, Professor Assam, identified as Debasish Bhattacharya, escaped the terrorist attack by reciting “Kalima”. Read his story here.
