Sonam, the wife of Indore Resident Raja Raghuvanki, who was killed during their honeymoon in Meghalaya, allegedly hired contract killers to organize her murder, reported the PTI press agency and quoted the highest cop.
Meghalaya DGP and Nongrang said PTI that Sonam gave up before the police in Ghazipur Uttar Pradesh, while three other attackers were arrested overnight.
“One person was picked up from up and two other charges were detained from Indore to Sit,” she said, adding that Sonam gave up at the Nandganj police station in UP and was then arrested.
Nongrang said that the arrest was revealed that his wife hired them to kill Raghuvanki.
“The operation is still continuing to Madhya Pradesh to catch other persons involved in the crime,” she said.
Meghalaya, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, confirmed the arrest and said that all three attackers in the case of Raja Raghuvansehi came from Madhya Pradesh. He also shared that the search for one was turned on.
“Within 7 days, the main breakthrough was reached by the meghalay police in the case of Raja’s murder. 3 Assillanti, who come from Madhya Pradesh, were arrested, the woman gave up and the operation was still on catching another attacker … well done,” Conrad Sangma.
This comes the day after the tourist guide informed the police that a few honeymoon was accompanied by three men.
Albert Pde, a guide in Mawlakhiat, said PTI said he had seen a few accompanied by three male tourists when they climbed over 3,000 steps from Nongriat to Mawlakhiat.
Raja Raghuvansehi and his wife Sonam disappeared on May 23, just hours after they logged off from home in Nongriat in the Sohra area in Shillong.
Raja’s body was found in the gorge near Weisawdong Falls 2.
In his body it was found that the gold ring and the chain were found, which led to the suspicion that it was murdered. A day later, a machete from blood was discovered nearby and two days later, a raincoat was found in the village of Mawkma, which was similar to the couple, halfway between Sohrarim and the gorge where Raja’s body was found.
Other CCTV shots from one of the families showed that Sonam was wearing a similar raincoat.
