
A woman from West Bengal reportedly killed one of her pets as a “victim” by strangling him and maintaining his decaying body in her apartment for a few days, in what is considered to be an occult or ritual practices. The defendant, Triparna Paik, cut the throat of one of her three Labrador dogs, and then packed the body in the fabric inside her apartment in Mahadevapura, NDTV reported.
The bad smell from the unfolded dog brought the scene to the attention of neighbors, who then pointed out the civic body of Bengaluru (BBMP).
When the officials arrived on the scene, Paik resisted their entry and even threatened to commit suicide, which made them call the police.
Inside the apartment, the authorities found out that the remained remains of one dog and two others suffer from serious neglect.
The triparna, which had previously had four labradors, reportedly lost one of them four months ago. The apartment was decorated with pictures of the deities and objects of the loan, which led the authorities to believe that it could be made “tantric” or black magic ritual, NDTV reported.
The news after Mort revealed that the dog died about four days earlier. Officials stated that the sealed condition and lack of ventilation resulted in a strong, unbearable odor and increased health concerns between neighboring inhabitants.
The case was filed in the framework of prevention concerning the Animal Act, along with the relevant parts of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhit (BNS). Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) said that surviving dogs are currently evaluated to rescue and rehabilitation.
