Here are some good news for urbanities who want to deal with agriculture but do not have expertise and experience to embark on it. With a focus on farmers at the end of the week and those who are in agriculture, the University of Agricultural Sciences-Bengalur (UAS-B) is ready to introduce paid consulting services.
“Experts and scientists will provide farmers a crop plan depending on the size and nature of their fields, as well as their requirements and investment potential. We will register a fee for preparing such a plan,” SV SURESHA.
“If necessary, experts would visit the fields. It will prepare similar architects and visit a place where a certain amount of money would be charged for each visit,” Dr. SureSha Hindu. The plan would be according to their requirements and the availability of work. Experts would also propose the possibilities of mechanization.
Feedback during Santhe
The university came up with the idea of feedback from the monthly Santhes (Shandies) organized on its GKVK campus in Bengalur, where innovative farmers and farmers can be authorized to sell their production on the fourth Saturday of each month.
“Consumers who visit Santhes also consist of employees and other urban areas who have either bought agricultural land or want to become farmers. Some of them are farmers at the end of the week. They contacted us during Santhes and wanted to know if we could help them. “These are not traditional farmers who want only technical management. They are people who have no practical experience. That’s why we were thinking about introducing paid consulting services.”
The university has already received applications from almost 20 persons for consulting services. “We classify their requirements and therefore allocate relevant experts. Let us start to set up a consultation table within one month to contact us online. They can present relevant details of their land, nature and their requirements,” he said.
In five districts
The service will be offered in the districts of Bengaluru Urban, Bengalur of the countryside, Bengaluru (Ramanagara), Chikkabobara and Kola.
The vice -chairman is optimistic that this service would encourage innovations in agriculture, especially marketing, because city experts are good in building a brand for their production through online platforms. The university wants to promote ecological agriculture methods through them.
Many urbanites who went to agriculture during Covid Days are now not active in agriculture, Dr. SureSha and hoped that the new service would help restore interest.
