Honor announced plans to share a new strategic plan for artificial intelligence (AI) at Mobile World Congress (MWC) on Monday in 2025. The smartphone brand will showcase its “Alpha Project” in a keynote speech in Barcelona. Although the company did not share any details about the announcement, it is presumably based on software enhancements. It is worth noting that the keynote will be held the day before the official start of the MWC 2025 event. The event is scheduled between March 3 and March 6.

At present, the strategic plan of Alpha plan for consumer technology brands is difficult to understand. In the newsroom post, Honor details the AI-focused vision, but no details were revealed. Chinese brands use Alpha plans using things like “pioneering spirit in exploration,” “highest level of excellence,” “excellent through innovation,” and “strategic vision,” but that doesn’t really tell us what Keynote meetings might include.
It is worth noting that Honor’s keynote will be held at 4:30 pm on March 2 at the CET (IST 9:00 pm IST) of the bystander of MWC 2025. AI innovation, which will be driven by partnerships.
Honor emphasizes that the Alpha program will focus on “an environment that promotes open and collaborative,” which may suggest that the brand tends toward an open source community. Alpha is said to have “built a strong AI ecosystem” that may include multiple other consumer technology brands. The brand may launch an open source AI platform on which multiple global brands can jointly build AI capabilities for end users. The company may also introduce new AI capabilities to its smartphones.
The company also shys away from mentioning any hardware, including any new flagship smartphone. It is unclear whether the Honors are not going to unveil any new phones at the event or just put them under the packaging film for the time being. Newsroom posts also show that Chinese brands can extend AI capabilities to other forms such as wearables, smart home devices, and more.
