Home Minister V. Anitha on Sunday (May 31, 2026) met militiaman KV Venkata Ramana, who was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Sheela Nagar after he was attacked on duty near Lankelapalem.

Ms. Anitha inquired about Mr. Venkat Raman’s condition and reviewed his treatment. She met his family and assured them of the government’s support.

Speaking to the media, Mrs. Anitha condemned the attack and called it unfortunate. She said that Mr. Venkata Ramana was attacked with a knife while on duty and sustained serious injuries.

Police responded immediately and took him to the hospital, where he is under the care of doctors and receiving treatment, she said.

She said the accused has been arrested and promised strict action. According to her, attacks on the police and other law enforcement officers would not be tolerated.
