The actor and Minister of the Trade Union Suresh Gopi, who was recently considered a sports chain with a pendant reminiscent of the Leopard tooth, will soon be convened to see if the pendant is a wilderness trophy.
The Kerala Forest Department will issue an announcement to Mr. Gopim, which will soon ask him to submit a pendant and appear in front of the forest division officer, Thrissur, for investigation.
Mr. Gopi will be asked to explain the nature and source of the pendant. The department will also find out whether the pendant is a trophy of wild animals or artificial.
According to the Nature Protection Act
The 1972 Wild Living Act stipulates that no one but a person who has a certificate of ownership, acquires, adopts, maintains, maintains, custody or possession of any captured animal, animal, trophies or impatient trophies.
Animal -related offenses such as leopards that are included in Annex 1 of the Act, including the possession of a trophy, can attract prison between three and seven years of age, as well as a fine.
Complaint
Muhammad Hashim, an activist of the Youth Congress in Thrissur, met the Chief of the State Police (SPC) and forest officers. Hashim filed a complaint with divisional forest officers Thrissur and Kannur in June, because the SPC office informed him that forest officers were competent authorities to act in such cases.
The actor, who participated in several public positions in Thrissur and Kannur, was considered a chain with a pendant reminiscent of a Leopard tooth. The use and display of such an article is a criminal offense, and therefore measures will be initiated under the law, requiring Mr. Hashim in its complaint.
Reports of the events attended by Mr. Gopi, in which the suspicion of decoration was seen, were attached to the complaint. If the pendant is found as a trophy of wild animals, it should be progressed against it, Mr. Hashim said.
Personal look
The personal appearance of the actor in front of the forest officer is essential because information about the suspicious article will have to be obtained from him. He will also have the opportunity to file a written statement to the questions raised by the investigative officer. After obtaining his statement, it will be decided on the future procedure, the high -ranking sources of the forest said.
Recently, the Ministry arrested the popular rapper Vedan (Hirandas Murali) after a similar ornament was found. The singer who had to spend the day in prison was later released on bail.
