In order to submit a proposal to improve pedestrian facilities near the Secunderab Railway Station, the state government via Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority called on consultants’ designs to perform an increased sidewalk covering significant points around the station.
HMDA published an application for a proposal to select a consultant on the provision of services for the development of Skywalk near the railway station. The area of Secunderabad Railway Station has been defined to explain the reference conditions for advice, which includes several important points near where pedestrians are generated daily. The covered places include railway stations, two metro railway stations – Secunderabad West and Secunderabad East, connecting to the railway station, Rathifile bus station, Secunderab bus stop, bus stop in Bhoigudo and Uppal Bus.
In addition to transport nodes, the area is also home to the temple and gurdware, which contributes to the number of strikes in the region, says the RFP document. The current infrastructure is not sufficient to suit a large volume of pedestrians, which contributes to overloading of transport and safety, the document explained to Skywalk.
Selected consultants will be responsible from the design phase to the processing of tenders. They will have to prepare a conceptual design of the Skywalk structure with a model of income generation, a detailed report on projects including technical drawings, architectural and structural designs and quantities for the offer, and also prepare a bidding document for the supplier’s selection, in addition to providing technical assistance in bid control. The last date of submission of bidding is 2 June.
