
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will start more development projects worth more than £46,000 crore in Katra in Jammu and Kashmir and inaugurates the Chenab bridge, today, the highest railway bridge in the world, 6 June. On this occasion, Modi also marks Vande Bharat trains between Katra and Srinagar.

The PMO statement stated that Modi will start more development projects worth £46,000 crore in Katra, a base camp for pilgrims attending Mata Vaishno Devi.
Modi will start the Chenab bridge at 11 am. He then visits and starts the Anji Bridge and then around 12:00 by Vande Bharat trains.
Chenab Bridge as an architectural miracle

The Prime Minister will also open the Anji Bridge, the first Indian railway bridge for cables to serve the nation in difficult terrain, he added.
Other projects to be launched include the project 272 km Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (usbrl).
Built for the price around £43 780 crore, includes 36 tunnels (spanning 119 km) and 943 bridges. The project creates trouble -free railway connectivity between the Kashmir valley and the rest of the country aimed at transforming regional mobility and management of socio -economic integration.
In a large increase in the connectivity of the last mile, especially in the border areas, Modi lays the foundation stone and starts various road projects, the statement is said.
The Prime Minister also lays the foundation stone of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute for Medical Perfection in Katra worth £350 crore. It will be the first medical university in the district of Reasi, which significantly contributes to the infrastructure of healthcare in the region.
The first train connecting the valley with the rest of India
Modi will mark from the girl’s Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express- the first train connecting the Kashmir valley with the rest of the country. On this occasion, it will also be practically described by the train from Srinagar to Katra.
It will take about 3 hours of traveling between Katra and Srinagar over the Vande Bharat train, which will shorten the current travel time by 2-3 hours.

The Istampur-Srinagar-Baramulla (USBL) railway connection is one of the most ambitious railway projects carried out in independent India, PIB said.
Stretching 272 kilometers over the harsh Himalayas was the project built for £43 780 crore, he said.

The project includes 36 tunnels that cover 119 kilometers and 943 bridges that combine valleys, ridges and mountain passes together.
