
The Hindu Group in association with SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) will organize the two-day Deep Tech Summit 2026 on April 6-7, bringing together policymakers, investors and leaders from industry, academia and startups to shape the future of deep technology in the country.
The Summit seeks to provide a platform for ideas to move from labs to markets, enabling meaningful collaboration between stakeholders across deep technology industries, including semiconductors, artificial intelligence, biotechnology and advanced engineering.
The first day will include fireside chats with government leadership on India’s deep technology vision and with IIT Madras Institute professor Ashok Jhunjhunwala on innovation ecosystems. Expert panels will discuss “Deep Tech Decade: Engineering the next Revolution” and “Re-engineering academic research for industrial agility”, while investor-focused sessions will discuss how to scale up lab innovation.
The second day highlights include a keynote lecture featuring thought leaders from academia and industry, panel discussions on “State as De-risked – Aligning Academic Excellence with National Missions” and “Convergence of Disciplines – Breaking Traditional Engineering Powerhouses” and a fireside chat with leaders from the business and innovation ecosystems.
There will also be a master class by Parag Agarwal, CEO, UniversityTech.io and workshops by i-Hub Foundation for Cobotics, IIT Delhi’s Technology Innovation Center, and Credit Guarantee Scheme for Startups. Start-up pitch rounds will continue throughout the day on both days.
Amitesh Kumar Sinha, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and Director General, India Semiconductor Mission will be the Chief Guest. Experts on the panel will include Panneerselvam Madanagopal, CEO, MeitY Startup Hub; C. Muthamizhchelvan, Vice-Chancellor, SRMIST; and B. Govindarajan, CEO, Royal Enfield.
