
Continuous rains, lightning floods and landslides continue to cause confusion through Himachal Pradesh and, according to the latest official data, claim that at least 63 lives in the state since the beginning of Monsoon on June 20. 40 others are reportedly missing.
Chief Minister Himachal Pradesh Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s Media Advisor Narnesh Chauhan said, “63 dead, 40 missing for cloudbursts and other rain -related disasters in the state.”
Chauhan also shared that 1 percent of the state’s population would soon receive civil defense training to deal with disasters.
The State Emergency Operational Center (SEOC) stated that 261 roads, including 186 in the Mandi district, have been closed for operation in the state and in the last few days 599 transformers and 797 water supply schemes have been disturbed.
He added that the calamities damaged over 150 houses, 104 cattle shelters, 31 vehicles, 14 bridges and several roads.
Mandi Death Toll Mounts to 13
On Thursday, the officials stated that two more bodies were obtained, and only 13 were only 13 in the Cloudburst in Cloudburst and the incidents related to the Mandi floods.
There is a search for 29 other missing.
While seven bodies were obtained from GoHar, five from Thunag and one in the Subdivizes of the Mandi district.
On Tuesday, there were ten cloudbursts in various parts of the Mandi district, three lightning floods and landslides.

‘Orange alert’
The meteorological agency issued an orange warning, warning against heavy to very heavy rains in isolated areas throughout the state for five days from 5 to 9 July.
She also warned against low to medium lightning flood risk in parts of six districts: Kangra, Mandi, Hamirpur, Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur in the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, mild to heavy rains continued to flush parts of Himachal Pradesh. Pachhad in the Sirmaur district received 133.3 mm rain from the center, followed by mehra Barsar 92 mm, Jubbarhatti 59.4 mm, Jatton Barrage 566 mm, Una 55.2 mm, Baijath 55 mm, Brahmani 42.2 mm, Baggi 37.5 mm, 34.6 mm, and Kangra 32.6 mm mm.
