
Shimla, August 17 (PTI) at least 355 roads, including three National Motorways (NHS), remain blocked and more than 1,000 electricity distribution transformers disrupted across Himachal Pradesh due to natural disasters caused by torrential rains.
According to the State Emergency Center, at least 202 roads, including NH 21, it is blocked in the Mandi district, 64 including NH 305 in Kulle, 28 in Simraur, 27 in Kangra, nine in chamba, eight in Shimla, seven in Una, six in Lahaul and Spit, two in Kinnaur, including NH 5 and one in Bilpur and Hamirpur.
As a result of torrential rains, the power supply was also seriously affected, with 1,067 transformers out of service. These include 557 in Kulle, 385 in Mandi, 112 in Lahaul and Spit, 11 in Kinnaur and two in a chamba. In addition, 116 water supply schemes, including 44 in Mandi, 41 in Kangra, 14 in Hamirpur, nine in Kulle, four in Šiml, three in Lahaulu and Spit and one in Solan.
Meanwhile, the meteorological department predicted that the state continued in heavy rainfall and released the “yellow” weather for the 18th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd August.
As a result, the state will experience several magic of heavy to very heavy rain in isolated parts as well as light to middle rain in most parts of the state.
In the last 24 hours, Himachal Pradesh witnessed heavy to very strong precipitation in isolated places and in the smallest places of light to mild rainfall.
