Highlights of West Bengal Cabinet expansion: 35 MLAs sworn in
West Bengal BJP chief Samik Bhattacharya said the new government led by Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari was “committed” to fulfilling its promises.
In a post on X, before the cabinet expansion, he said: “June 1, 2026 – A new beginning of hope in the lives of the people of the state.”
Enumerating his party’s promises, he said, “From today, free travel service for women has been started in state government buses. At the same time, the full implementation of ‘Annapurna Yojana’ is starting. The administration and workers have already gone to the ground to ensure that the government aid reaches the homes of the real beneficiaries. We stand with the people so that the new development of the people fulfills its commitment.”
“The twin-engine government believes that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’ remains at the fore – the right to development also belongs to the person at the furthest end of society,” he said.
“Our commitment is to honor mothers and sisters, stand by the poor and bring a smile to every family’s face. New government, new impetus – West Bengal is moving forward on the path of development,” he said.
