The State Commissioner Handloom and Textiles G. Rekha Rani on Thursday (August 7) emphasized the importance of the handicap sector in the socio-economic development of the region.
After the start of the National Attenuation celebrations 2025 at the Weavers Service Center, Vijayawad, Mrs. Rekha Rani said it was an opportunity to “celebrate our rich weaving tradition that shows the creativity of our people”.
In addition to Vijayawady, the Weavers service center also organized five other programs in Handloom Pocket in the district of Krishna, Mangalagiri in the Guntur district, Venkatagiri in the Tirupati district, Muramanda in Eastern Godavari and Isukapalli in Bapatla district, with fabrics.
The celebration was organized by a live television broadcast of National Handloom Day celebrations in Nový Delhi. This year, three people from Andhra Pradesh were selected for the award as recognition of their talent. These include Srinivasulu from Venkatagiri, selected for the Sant Kabir Award and Karnati Murali of Palnad and Jujare Nagaraju of Dharmavaram.
