Voter turnout was high in The Nilgiris, with an average of 75.90% votes cast till 5 pm.
According to officials, 75.85% votes were cast in Coonoor, 74.34% in Ooty and 77.53% in Gudalur. Voters turned out in large numbers throughout the district. Long queues started forming at Khandal polling station in Udhagamandalam around 9 am and continued till afternoon. Similar scenes were witnessed in polling booths across Udhagamandalam.
