
Hibi Eden, a deputy, urged the railways to develop Ernakulam Marshalling Dvůr as a new terminal with four platforms to alleviate the overload on the Ernaculam and the Municipal Railway Stations.
At a meeting with Divyakant Chandrakar, a division railway manager (DRM) division of Thiruvananthapuram, South Railway, has increased this and other plans for rail development. The deputy proposed to extend the existing coaching warehouse by creating larger lines of PIT and stabilization to reduce the delay in its implementation, according to the road.
The deputy pointed out that the location of the shipyard Ernakulam Marshalling is very strategic and its proximity to the metro metro, the water metro and the mobility set should be used to integrate into the multimodal transport system.
He asked the railways to support the project for 2 km of road connections between Ernakula Junction and Town Railway Stations. A proposal waiting for a long time would be an immense help and railways. He said that mutual cooperation between southern railways, state government and Kochi Corporation is required to prepare the necessary harmonization, survey and design of the project. He also proposed to create a common committee for project implementation.
Mr. Eden designed Skywalks/Link Bridges connecting the three main railway stations in the Ernakulam Lok Sabha – Nunction, Town and Thripunithura – with Kochi Metro stations. He said that these intermodal ties would serve as a model for integrated urban transport and significantly improve the experience of traveling in Kochi.
