Kannada Poet Hs Venkatesha Murty (HSV), 81, died on May 30 in Bengalur. He suffered from age -related diseases. He made his debut in the collection of poetry of Parivrutt in 1968, during the Navya movement (Modernistic) until recently wrote. His last main work was the narration of Buddh’s life and philosophy in the Buddhachan verse (2020).
Although he wrote poetry with different literary movements, HSV retained his own different identity. His poetry was known as modern, but also “in an interview with tradition”. His poems were lent to be sung as Bhaavagetete in the Kannada Sugam Sangeet and HSV was one of the poets who were then prevented as “cassette poets”.
