Heavy rainfall: holiday declared for educational institutions in Kozhikode

District Collector MS Madhavikutty has declared a holiday for all educational institutions in Kozhikode district on Saturday (June 6) following the latest red alert and reports of dangerous waterlogging in urban and rural areas due to heavy rains.

The holiday will cover schools, madrasas, training centres, anganwadis and colleges, including professional colleges.

In Friday’s (June 5) order, the collector also specified that there will be no change in the schedule of public examinations and university examinations that have already been announced. As heavy rains continue across the district, district officials have urged residents to remain vigilant and avoid unnecessary travel.
