Health Minister inspects TIMS Sanathnagar and directs officials to speed up ongoing works

Health Minister C. Damodar Raja Narasimha on Thursday reviewed preparations for the upcoming inauguration of the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) in Sanathnagar and directed officials to speed up the ongoing civil and infrastructure works to ensure that the hospital becomes fully functional at the earliest. The date of the inauguration has not yet been confirmed by the office of the Minister of Health.

During the visit, the minister conducted a detailed inspection of all the departments in the hospital and reviewed the health infrastructure established in the facility. He personally inspected the modern medical equipment, laboratories, blood bank and other medical facilities developed at the hospital, which officials said were built according to international standards.

He directed the officials to ensure sufficient number of toilet blocks for both outpatients and inpatients visiting the hospital. He also managed the development of a multi-level parking system at the site to ensure smooth traffic and avoid congestion.

The minister further directed the officials to set up a dharmashala for attendants accompanying the patients and set up two canteens in the hospital premises. He emphasized that the construction of the administrative building and office of the TB Hospital Board of Directors on the premises should be completed expeditiously.

As part of security measures, the minister ordered officials to set up a police base at the main entrance of the hospital. He also instructed the concerned departments to ensure uninterrupted basic services like drainage, sanitation and water supply in the facility.

He also directed the officials to prepare cost estimates to complete all the pending works required to make TIMS fully operational.
