Health camp organized in Vijayawada

A medical camp under the ‘Healthy Vijayawada’ initiative was organized at Lahari Vidya Mandir in Payakapuram, Vijayawada on Sunday (September 20, 2026) with more than 200 patients receiving medical services.

The camps are jointly organized by Praja Arogya Vedika and Jana Vignana Vedika every two months on the third Sunday to provide medical care to people suffering from diabetes, hypertension, epilepsy and paralysis.

Doctors Chava Muralikrishna and B. Sriharsha examined the patients and prescribed medicines. They emphasized the importance of healthy eating habits, proper lifestyle, regular medical check-ups, exercise and following doctors’ recommendations for effective management of diabetes and hypertension.

Volunteers distributed essential tablets and insulin to patients and explained their proper use. The medical team from HCG Cancer Hospital, led by Dr. Devarapalli Vinod and Sundar, also conducted free screening tests for patients.

Praja Arogya Vedika District General Secretary NTR and Camp Coordinator G. Vijay Prakash interacted with the patients and guided the volunteers in addressing their demands.

Leaders of Praja Arogya Vedika, including Dr. B. Sampath, M. Satyaprasad, Murali, G. Durgarao, GV Rangareddy and Sridhar, along with representatives of Jana Vignana Vedika Boi Ravi and Prasad and camp volunteers participated in the programme.

The next camp will be held on November 15, said Mr. Vijay Prakash.
