Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu reiterated the Andhra Pradesh government’s commitment to provide 20 lakh jobs as promised during the TDP’s Yuva Galam program ahead of the 2024 elections and said that 4.50 lakh jobs have been allocated so far.
The government is trying to realize the vision of Swarnandhra-2047 by focusing on its 10 principles (Padi Sutralu), he said and announced that Ugadi will introduce a population management policy. In addition, details of people receiving government services and welfare programs will soon be registered on family cards.
Addressing the Collectors Conference on its second day at the Secretariat on Thursday, Mr Naidu said the future depended on skills and that degrees in skill development would be offered alongside traditional courses.
He instructed the Collectors to achieve zero maternal and infant mortality and zero suicides, for which farmers, students and families should be consulted.
He said Rayalaseema would be developed as a horticulture hub for international markets and asserted that Andhra Pradesh would be positioned as a logistics hub along the east coast.
The Chief Minister ordered that the highest priority should be the resolution of disputes arising during the placement of land under Section 22-A of the Land Registry Act. “Political interference in land disputes will not be tolerated,” he said.
He instructed collectors to ensure that the water table is three meters at the end of the monsoon season and does not fall below eight meters before the start of the next rainy season.
He clarified that there was no increase in electricity tariffs and directed the collectors to make aquaculture farmers pay their electricity bills expeditiously.
Referring to law and order (L&O), Mr. Naidu advocated zero tolerance for crime and banishment of habitual offenders from the state. He said a cabinet sub-committee would be formed to help curb the menace of malicious propaganda and fake accounts used on social media for character assassination.
Director General of Police Harish Kumar Gupta announced a 5.50% drop in crime in the state. However, crime was on the rise in Annamayya, Konaseema, Nellore, Guntur and Tirupati districts.
Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan emphasized the importance of maintaining law and order to achieve 15% growth rate. He directed the Collectors and Superintendents of Police to be proactive in checking crimes.
