Croinian President Volodymyr warned Zlensky that Russian President Vladimir Putin could attack NATO Member State in the next five years to test the unity of the alliance. In an interview with Sky News, he said Zelena that the current pace of NATO’s strengthening his defense is too slow to discourage future aggression from Moscow.
Zelena claimed that while the immediate Russian attack on NATO is unlikely, the risk will increase significantly by 2030.
“We believe that Putin may have significantly greater abilities since 2030,” he said.
“Today, Ukraine holds him, he has no time to drill the army.”
The Ukrainian leader said that Russian forces are currently suffering heavy losses and add:
“Russian soldiers are all destroyed and erased on the battlefield,” he warned that Putin could re -build himself due to time and resources.
“In any case (Putin) needs a break, it needs sanctions to be canceled, needs a drilled army. And 10 years is a very long time. It will have a new army prepared (until then).”
Calls NATO defense targets “too slow”
Green criticized the NATO plan to increase defense spending to 5% of GDP by 2035 and describe the timeline as a slow face in the face of growing threats.
“Very slow,” he said honestly.
“Defense spending 5% are the type of level invested to the NATO allies during the Cold War. This is what is needed again.”
The proposed collapse of 5% includes 3.5% of GDP for direct military expenses and 1.5% for related infrastructure and cyber defense. NATO’s heads are expected to approve the Summit in The Hague this week, where Zelenkyy was also invited.
Membership of Ukraine NATO is not possible “right now”
While Zelsky reaffirmed long -term aspirations of NATO Ukraine, he acknowledged that full membership is not currently feasible.
“The ambitions of Ukraine join the military alliance are not possible right now,” he said.
“But in the longer term, NATO needs Ukrainians.”
Conflicts in the Middle East could undermine Ukraine
The Ukrainian President also expressed concern that the intensification of conflicts in the Middle East – especially between Israel and Iran – could divert international focus and assistance from Ukraine.
“We understand that help from partners, including the US, can be reduced,” he said.
“It will be difficult for us. Russia will feel an advantage on the battlefield.”
About Trump-Putin’s relationship: “short-term partners, not friends”
Zensky discussed his tense past meetings with Donald Trump and abstained from direct criticism, but suggested Putin and Trump shared tactical harmonization.
“The US and Russia may be short -term partners, but they will never be friends, while Donald Trump is in power,” he said.
He refused to say that if he felt “bullied” in his now unorigent oval office with Trump, but noted that he was sincere.
Refuses to discuss soil concessions
Green repeated his support and ceasefires and said, “I would enter into negotiations to understand whether real compromises are possible and whether there is a real way to end the war.”
However, he did not say whether Ukraine would consider surrender to the territory as part of the peace agreement.
Instead, he claimed that sanctions and military pressure remain the key to the forced Putin to the table.
UK tech in Russian missiles?
The Ukrainian leader also raised alarms to fail to enforce international sanctions. He argued that NATO components were still in Russian weapons.
