“He can’t destroy me,” said Mohammed’s wife, Shami Hasin Jahan, after the Chief Court in Calcutta asked the Indian cricket to pay her and her daughter’s lunar maintenance from £4 Lakh as maintenance.
High Court ordered Shami to pay Hasin and her daughter £4 lakh in monthly maintenance as maintenance; Hasin receives £1.50 lakh per month while the daughter receives £2.50 lakh per month.
Hasin Jahan, a former model, married Mohammed Shami in 2014. The couple had a daughter in 2015.
Mohammed Shami and Hasin Jahan separated in 2018 after he was accused of domestic violence. They were in the middle of the divorce case and a legal battle for maintenance.
“Shami must bear all responsibility”
Hasin described it for her as a “victory” after a “long battle” and claimed that Shami “could not destroy her” because he is on the path of justice while on the way of injustice.
“I modeled and acted before I got married. Shami forced me to leave my profession. He wanted me to live only in a household. I loved Shami so much that I took it happily,” she said.
Hasin added that he now does not have his own earnings. “Shami must bear all responsibility for our maintenance. That’s why we had to approach court when he denied it.”
Hasin grateful for the court’s decision said, “If you are entering a relationship with someone, it is not written on their face that they have a bad nature, are a criminal or play with your and your daughters. I have also become such a victim.”
She also claimed that cricket did not see the protection, the future and happiness of his daughter.
“He should give up his stubbornness that he wants to destroy the life of exhaust Jahan,” she added.
