Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation is considering an increase in 100 crore through green and climatic bonds and a proposal committee will be created. Hubballi-Dharwad Mayor Jyotota Patil issued a decision on Friday at the monthly meeting of the Dharwad Council.
Councilors of the decisive and opposition parties conducted a discussion on this issue after the city commissioner Rudresh Ghali proposed to increase 100 crore ₹ through green and climatic bonds with citing examples of Indore and Surrat.
The Municipal Commissioner said that the initiative within the project of sustainable urban mobility and climate change will also receive CRORE 13 GBP to help the Ministry of the Union’s city housing.
However, the councilors were not convinced and wanted the proposal to be thoroughly checked. Thippanna Majjagi’s floor leader proposed to create the Bond Management Committee headed by the mayor’s deputy to study the feasibility of the design.
Mrs. Patil said that within a week there would be a committee to study this matter. She said that the members would also visit other municipal corporations where these bonds were issued, and a detailed workshop would be performed to gain the opinion of the Council.
Illegal meat stalls
The question of illegal meat stalls in two cities also led to a sharp discussion with the councilors who plunged officials for officials for not taking action. The Shankar Shelke Council accused officials of ineffectiveness and pointed out that illegal transport and the defeat of cattle had been unchanged.
Former mayor IRESH Anchtageri tried to know why proper legal steps have not yet been taken. The mayor who decided on this matter ordered officials to immediately start the process of off illegal mass meat trade.
Mr. Anchtageri, who raised the question of poor collection of advertising fees, pointed out that while the BBMP gathered around 300 Crore every year, the incomes of Hubballi-Dharwad Corporation were only 3 Crore, although they have more potential. He claimed that ineffective collection led to a loss of at least 6 crore per year.
In the question of alleged extensive interventions in the corporation real estate, the mayor ordered the subcommittee formation within three days to explore.
The question of thanks to the Prime Minister for reducing GST rates led to a sharp discussion. After Mr. Anghatgeri proposed a resolution to thank the Prime Minister Narendra Modim for the GST film on several products, several BJP councilors agreed with him.
Congress councilors, however, opposed him that it could not be celebrated. They said it was a BJP government that originally imposed a higher GST and was now reduced after the opposition leader at Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi demanded it. Their remarks led to the Councilor of BJP to accuse the main Minister Siddaramaiaha of the burdening of ordinary people with heavy taxes.
The house continued to proceed according to the program after Mrs. Patilová hit and reassured the councilors.
