
The High Court in Kerala dismissed Jollyammy Joseph, the main accused in the case of a serial murder Kootatay, who sought to permit his / her new lawyer.
Jolly is accused of murdering six of her family members, including her first husband Roy Thomas using cyanide. The alleged goal was to gain control of family property. Previously, the Court rejected its permission to inspect the place of the crime together with its new lawyer to defend it in the court proceedings.
The prosecutor stated that the crime occurred before 2011 and there would be many changes at the point of occurrence – the petitioner’s stay he knew well.
The justice of VG ARUn dismissed the petition, noted that the court proceedings had made considerable progress, with 124 prosecution. The Court was justified by rejecting her prayer to visit the place of occurrence. This would not prevent her right of a fair trial.
