The Telangana High Court on Monday directed a person who had filed a PIL accusing a construction company of illegally occupying 97.06 acres of Shamshabad airport land to approach District Collector Ranga Reddy with representation in the matter.
As K Krishna refused to take any specific orders on the PIL, a bench of Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh and Justice GM Mohiuddin directed the Collector to deal with the petitioner’s representation in accordance with law. The petitioner has sought a direction from the authorities that M/s Vertex Developers LLP VERTEX KLR GIGA CITI (which was named as the 14th respondent in the petition) has encroached on the airport land and started construction there illegally.
He also alleged that the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority had issued layout permission to the extent of 4,17,893.06 square meters on lands belonging to the airport in Mankhal village of Thukkuguda municipality. The petitioner wanted the HC to direct HMDA to cancel all permissions granted to the construction company.
When the petitioner’s counsel B. Balaiah asked the bench to pass an order to stop construction work on the said lands, the CJ said that the bench itself was unable to find specific and complete details of the lands allegedly encroaching on how the petitioner expected HYDRAA and RERA to respond in the matter. The court told the lawyer that the plea was ambiguous and the petitioner had not given specific details about the lands that were illegally occupied.
The bench directed the petitioner to approach the Collector with the details of the lands encroached upon by the building society and the statutory authorities who had given permission to the society to construct the structures.
