
The Keral High Court freed five CPI activists (M) on Wednesday, who were sentenced to life for the murder of KV Surendrana, BJP activists, in Thalassery in 2008.
The court noted that the whole narrative of the prosecution revolved around the evidence of the only eyewitness – the wife of the deceased. The Court found the accused of murder accused and relied mainly on her evidence.

Their advisor stated that the judgment of the Court was illegal because he overlooked various circumstances that would indicate that the wife of the deceased was not present inside the house at the time of the incident.
