HC grants bail to Balk Suman
Justice K Sujan of the Telangana High Court on Wednesday granted bail to former BRS party MLA Balka Suman, who was jailed after he was arrested in a case of inflammatory speech inciting party cadre to damage railway property and Singareni Collieries.
The former legislator was arrested on May 30 by the Banjara Hills police in Hyderabad on charges of inciting party workers to attack public property. The judge directed him to furnish a personal bond of ₹25,000 and two sureties of equal amount each to the satisfaction of the Third Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate-Nampally.
He was directed to appear before the Station House Officer of Banjara Hills every Monday at 10 a.m. for a period of eight weeks or till the filing of charges, whichever is earlier.
In a separate order, the judge quashed all five criminal cases registered against Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for violating the model code of conduct during the Huzurnagar by-elections in 2019. Revanth Reddy was the Malkajgiri MP when he campaigned for the Congress candidate during the by-elections. The cases involved violations of the Model Code of Conduct.
