
The High Court in Kerala ordered India the National Motorway Office (Nhai) to ensure that the standards concerning toll reptiles on the Paliyekkar tolls in Thrissur tolls.
Nhai should ensure that each vehicle (with Fastag) passes tolls within 10 seconds and that the queues do not exceed 100 m, the court said.
The Provisional Order was accepted in response to the public interest (Pil) Filed by OJ Janeesh, which sought to regulate the operation and alleviate overload on the plasion. Referring to the NHAI instructions, the court stated that vehicles must be allowed to pass through a toll stand without being charged if the vehicle queue exceeded the prescribed limit (100 m). He ordered Nhai to strictly implement the directive and fail to submit an affidavit explanatory reasons for non -compliance. The matter was published for further hearing on May 21st.
The District Collector Thrissur 28 was suspended by the collection of tolls on the tolls of Paliyekkar, who told serious traffic jams, especially as a result of the ongoing underpass on the National Highway 544. The order was then withdrawn after Nhai had assured that corrective measures would be taken.
