As Mr. Chandre Gowda refused to resign after six months of possession, according to internal understanding within JD (s), the party moved the proposal for trust against it. On Monday, he was defeated against him without confidence. While JD members voted for the proposal, BJP members and congress voted against it, allowing him to continue his post.
Among the 38 members present 21 voted for the proposal, while 16 opposed it and Mr. Chandre Gowda abstained. In addition to the members of the Council, this proposal was attended by a member of Lok Sabha Shreyas Patel and legislators HP Swaroop and Sooraj Revanna. The proposal without confidence required a vote of two thirds.

Chandre Gowda was elected in the elections to the President’s office, held on August 21, 2024. Internally, the party asked him to release a place after six months. However, he refused to follow the dictate of the party and managed to continue his possession.
Mr. Chandre Gowda thanked the former BJP MLA Preetham J. Gowd and a member of the Congress of Lok Sabha Shreyas M. Patel for their support. “I was performing my duties as President of CMC effectively, without any accusation against me. When they wanted to remove me from the post, I was looking for BJP and Congress support. Thank you for their support,” he said. Interestingly, the portrait of the former BJP MLA Preetham Gowd also hanged in his chamber.
Reaction of Revany:
The defeat of the party’s effort to remove Mr. Chandre Gowdy from the post was considered a failure to JD (s). However, former Minister and leader JD (s) HD Revanna said on Tuesday that the development was a failure for President BJP.
“At the state level, BJP and JD (s) have an alliance. However, there are Congress and BJP together in Hassan. BJP President should answer it. I informed him about this issue well in advance,” he said.
Mr. Revanna said his party would take legal action against Mr. Chandre Gowda, who went against the side of the party.
