Hash oil and ganja worth ₹6.5 lakh seized, nine arrested

Karimnagar rural police on Friday seized about 500 grams of hash oil and ganja, 60 drug tablets, 14 syringes and other paraphernalia and arrested nine persons at Bommakal near Karimnagar.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team led by Karimnagar Rural Circle Inspector A. Niranjan Reddy arrested nine youths aged between 20 and 25 who hailed from the erstwhile composite districts of Karimnagar and Adilabad. Some of them were B.Tech and degree holders, the press release said.

The seized narcotics were valued at around 6.5 million crowns.

The accused is said to have told the police that they procured the narcotics from the border areas of neighboring Andhra Pradesh, transported them to Karimnagar by train and sold them there.

The police registered a case under the NDPS Act and started an investigation.
